Mohammed Shami is set to play Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Bengal this season, according to the squad released by the Cricket Association of Bengal on Monday.
The Indian pacer, returning to the field after a long injury layoff, will play his second domestic tournament on the trot after featuring for the state in the Ranji Trophy fifth-round tie against Madhya Pradesh.
Shami captured seven wickets — claiming three proper batters and four tail-enders — in about 44 overs he bowled and played a crucial knock of 37 runs.
It was noted by many experts at the venue that Shami would have bowled within the 130-135kmph range, which was impressive considering that it was his comeback match.
