Kane Williamson became the highest scoring New Zealand batter in Champions Trophy history during his side’s semifinal clash against South Africa in Lahore on Wednesday.
The 34-year-old went past former Kiwi skipper Stephen Fleming, who had accumulated 441 runs from 13 innings in the competition.
Williamson’s record-breaking moment came in his 10th Champions Trophy innings. The right-handed batter has scored four fifties and a hundred in this competition.
Williamson is also the highest run-scorer for New Zealand in international cricket. He is fourth in all-time run-scorers list for New Zealand, only behind Ross Taylor, Fleming and Martin Guptill.
