The grand Diwali release Singham Again ends with the promise of a sequel, starring Ajay Devgn and Salman Khan. Will Mission Singham Chulbul open with a bang, if it gets made?
Trade is excited for Ajay Devgn-Salman Khan starrer Mission Singham Chulbul: “If it happens, there would be pandemonium! It can’t get bigger than that. It would be like one DYNAMITE exploding on screen”
Trade veteran Taran Adarsh replied, “If it happens, there would be pandemonium! I don’t know how these two cops would meet and what they would do in a movie. That would be pure mass; it can’t get bigger than that. It would be like one dynamite exploding on screen!”
He continued, “Singham, Sooryavanshi and Lady Singham are fine but Singham and Chulbul would be the ultimate combination. And Rohit Shetty can achieve it. Salman is fond of Rohit and they both respect each other. His rapport with Ajay, meanwhile, is on a different level.”
Film exhibitor and distributor Akshaye Rathi stated, “When two of the biggest stars of our country with serious franchise values of Singham and Dabangg come together, anything can happen. The sky’s the limit. I hope it gets made and that it’s made in a manner that is not just relevant and contemporary but also exciting for its time of release.”
Trade analyst Atul Mohan said, “It would work. This combination will appear on screen after a long time.”
He also noted, “It’s not like Singham is a disaster. It has worked well. Maybe our expectations were more. Nevertheless, the brand has grown with Singham Again and there is excitement for the next part. With Salman in the fray, isse bada casting ho nahin sakta.”
He remarked, “Until now, the maximum business of Rs. 285 crores have happened on Diwali, with or without clash. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Shivaay in 2016 collected around Rs. 212 crores. Housefull 3–Made In China–Saand Ki Aankh collected around Rs. 227 crores on Diwali 2019 while last year’s Diwali release Tiger 3 earned Rs. 285 crores. In that regard, iss saal, badi Diwali thi as the combined business is more than Rs. 400 crores. This makes it the biggest Diwali ever.”
