Indian captain Rohit Sharma has confirmed that KL Rahul will continue to open the batting alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal in the second Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test in Adelaide, starting on Friday.
Speaking at a press conference on the eve of the game, Rohit revealed that he will bat in the middle order, although he did not specify the exact position.
“I was watching KL Rahul’s batting from home with my new born in arms. He played brilliantly so there is no need to change his position. KL deserves that spot at this point,” said Rohit.
Rahul had made vital runs (26 and 77) in Perth, playing a key role in India’s commanding 295-run win.
