The Women’s Premier League (WPL) Auction for the third season is set to be held on December 15 in Bengaluru.
A total of 120 players will go under the hammer. There are 91 Indian and 29 overseas cricketers, including three from Associate Nations.

DEANDRA DOTTIN

Deandra Dottin is a 33-year-old all-rounder from West Indies. She is one of only three players under the Rs 50 lakh price slab at this year’s auction.
Dottin was signed for Rs 60 lakh by Gujarat Giants before the inaugural season. However, the franchise released her days before the first edition began in 2023.
Dottin became the first woman to score a century in the shortest format of the game when the right-handed batter hit a 38-ball ton against South Africa in the T20 World Cup 2010. It is still the fastest T20I century by a woman.
She was a member of the West Indian squad that won the Women’s T20 World Cup in 2016. Overall, she has played 143 ODIs and 132 T20Is for the national side in which she has scored a total of 6544 runs. With her right-arm medium pace, she has taken 139 international wickets with the white ball.

Laura Harris is a 34-year-old uncapped right-handed batter from Australia. She has a base price of Rs 10 lakh and is the oldest player in this year’s auction pool.
Laura has played franchise cricket in Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL), The Hundred, and the Caribbean Premier League.
In WBBL, Laura has been a member of the Brisbane Heat since the first season in 2015-16 and won two titles. This season, she scored 159 runs in 11 innings as the Heat finished runner-up.
Grace, Laura’s younger sister, has played 11 ODIs and 48 T20Is for the national side. Grace is with UP Warriorz.
HEATHER KNIGHT

Heather Knight is a 34-year-old right-handed batter and captain of the England women’s cricket team. She has a base price of Rs 50 lakh.
Knight led England to the Women’s ODI World Cup title in 2017.
Knight, who also bowls right-arm off-break, has played 12 Tests, 146 ODIs and 126 T20Is for the national side.
She won the WBBL title with Sydney Thunder in 2020-21. She was picked by Royal Challengers Bengaluru for Rs 40 lakh for the inaugural season but did not play any match.

Lizelle Lee is a 32-year-old wicketkeeper-batter who played for South Africa from 2013 to 2022 before retiring from international cricket. She has a base price of Rs 50 lakh.
She represented the national side in 2 Tests, 100 ODIs and 82 T20Is, and scored a total of 5253 runs.
She has played franchise cricket in The Hundred and the WBBL.

Alana King is a 29-year-old right-arm leg-spinner from Australia. She is also a handy lower-order batter.
She has a base price of Rs 30 lakh.
She has played 4 Tests, 32 ODIs and 22 T20Is for the national side and picked a total of 69 wickets.
King has played franchise cricket in The Hundred and WBBL. In the latest edition of WBBL, she picked up 20 wickets for Perth Scorchers.
