Only 25 overs could be completed during a stop-start day three of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy third Test between India and Australia which began in Brisbane on Friday.
Alex Carey’s 70 propelled the host to 445 all out in the first innings. At the end of 17 overs in its reply, India is reeling at 51/4 with K.L. Rahul and Rohit Sharma on strike.
The first day of the Test was also curtailed with only 13.2 overs being delivered. The second day had no such stoppages, with over 88 overs being bowled and Australia racing to 405/7 at stumps thanks to hundreds from Travis Head and Steve Smith.
The forecast continues to look ominous for Day 4, with the rainfall percentage predicted to be around 80-90 per cent during the scheduled start of play.
