R Ashwin has retired from international cricket following the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar series against Australia in Brisbane.

A prolific performer, Ashwin finishes with 537 Test wickets at an average of 24, 3,503 runs with six centuries, 156 ODI wickets, and 72 T20I wickets.

Part of India’s 2011 World Cup-winning squad, he shone in the 2015 edition with 13 wickets, helping India reach the semifinals.

Ashwin retires as one of India’s all-time greats, leaving behind a legacy of remarkable achievements.

He has 537 Test wickets, the second most wickets by an Indian in Test matches, behind only Anil Kumble. He is also 7th on the overall wickets chart.

He took 475 wickets at home, the second most by an Indian bowler. He finished 1 wicket behind Anil Kumble, who took 476.
