India wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh smashed the joint-fastest half-century in women’s T20 Internationals during the third T20I against West Indies at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Thursday.
Ghosh reached her fifty off 18 balls, equalling New Zealand batter Sophie Devine and Australia Phoebe Litchfield’s record. She was eventually dismissed for 54 off 21 balls, which included three fours and five sixes.
The 21-year-old’s cameo and skipper Smriti Mandhana’s 47-ball 77 powered India to 217 for four in 20 overs, its highest total in T20I cricket.
