SA vs PAK: Injured Keshav Maharaj to miss rest of Pakistan ODI series

South Africa will be without Keshav Maharaj for the remainder of the ODI series against Pakistan after the left-arm spinner suffered a left adductor strain.

As confirmed by the team through a social media post, Maharaj will head to Durban for rehabilitation and will be reassessed ahead of the first Test against Pakistan.

South Africa also added that Bjorn Fortuin has been named as his replacement for the final two ODIs against Pakistan.

The Proteas are trailing Pakistan in the three-match series after conceding a nervy three-wicket defeat in the opener in Paarl earlier this week.

Maharaj suffered the injury in the warm-up for the first ODI, but was picked for the Test squad for the Pakistan series after the incident.

The 34-year-old spinner is a regular for South Africa across formats. He recently starred in his side’s Test win against Sri Lanka in Gqeberha, with a seven-wicket haul
