India batter Nitish Kumar Reddy scored his maiden Test hundred on Saturday during the third day of the fourth Test against Australia in Melbourne.
The 21-year-old got to the landmark in 171 deliveries, hitting nine fours and one six.
Nitish is now the third Indian batter after Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal to score a century during this Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Nitish came to bat at number eight and has become the first Indian to score a hundred in Australia from that position. The previous highest score batting at number eight down under was by Anil Kumble’s 87 in 2008 in Adelaide.
