South Africa announced the replacement for Anrich Nortje in its Champions Trophy 2025 squad after the pacer was ruled out due to a back injury.
Corbin Bosch has been included in the Proteas squad for the upcoming ICC tournament as Nortje’s replacement. The 30-year-old fast bowler made his international in December 2024, and has just one One Day International and a Test match under his belt.
Teenage pacer Kwena Maphaka has also been added to the South Africa squad as a travelling reserve. The pace duo and batter Tony de Zorzi will travel to Pakistan on Sunday, February 9 to join their team for the remainder of the ongoing Tri-Nation ODI series.
The tournament also involves New Zealand, apart from the Proteas and the host Pakistan.
The Proteas begin its Champions Trophy 2025 campaign on 21 February against Afghanistan in Karachi, Pakistan.
