Indian Premier League side Royal Challengers Bengaluru announced Rajat Patidar as its captain on Thursday ahead of IPL 2025.
RCB COO Rajesh Menon revealed the team’s decision in an event in Bengaluru.
Going into the IPL 2025 auction, RCB had released Fad du Plessis, its skipper for the last three seasons.
Contrary to expectations, in the auction the Bengaluru-based franchise didn’t go deep for any of the prominent captaincy option in the pool, like KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer.
RCB signed a total of 22 players in the auction. England all-rounder Liam Livingstone and Australians Josh Hazlewood and Tim David were some of the prominent buys of the franchise.
