Ranji Trophy 2024-25: Yashasvi Jaiswal ruled out of Mumbai’s semifinal match against Vidarbha

India left-handed opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal has reportedly been ruled out of Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy 2024-25 semifinal match against Vidarbha, which begins from Monday at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur.

According to PTI, Jaiswal might travel to the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru for further assessment of his unspecified injury soon, as he has been named as a “non-travelling reserve” in India’s Champions Trophy squad.

Jaiswal had featured in Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy group-stage match defeat against Jammu and Kashmir in January, and could only register scores of 4 and 26 as the Ajinkya Rahane-led side fell to a shock five-wicket defeat.

The 23-year-old didn’t feature in Mumbai’s quarterfinal match against Haryana earlier this month as he was with the Indian squad for the three-match ODI series against England at home. He made his ODI debut during the series, scoring a 22-ball 15 in the first ODI at Nagpur.

Though Jaiswal was named in India’s provisional 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy, he was later replaced by spinner Varun Chakaravarthy.
