After claiming a historic One-Day International series win over South Africa in September last year, Afghanistan is now ready to start its Champions Trophy 2025 campaign against the Proteas in Karachi on Friday.
While South Africa is the odds-on favourite heading into the clash, the Afghans are more than capable of pulling off an upset in this Group B opener.
Afghanistan and South Africa have faced each other in ODIs on five occasions, with the Proteas winning three matches and the Afghans securing two victories.
