New Zealand on Sunday recorded its highest PowerPlay score in the ICC Champions Trophy during the final against India in Dubai.
The side scored 69 runs in the first 10 overs, where only two fielders are allowed outside the 30-yard circle. Rachin Ravindra scored 37 runs off just 29 deliveries to lead the charge.
Its previous highest in the Champions Trophy was 68 runs, which it scored against Australia in the 2017 edition. In the Champions Trophy, the best by a team in the first 10 overs is Australia’s 90 against Afghanistan during the 2025 edition.
The Blackcaps’ highest in the PowerPlay across all ODIs is 118 against Sri Lanka in Christchurch in 2015.
