Virat Kohli has dropped a massive hint about his cricketing future suggesting the recently held Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 could have been his last tour to Australia.
Speaking at the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Innovation Lab Indian Sports Summit, Kohli said: “I might not have another Australia tour in me, so I am at peace with whatever happened in the past.”
The 36-year-old batter didn’t have a memorable five-match series down under where he scored just 190 runs in nine innings at an average of 23.75.
When asked about his post-retirement plans, Kohli admitted he hasn’t planned anything yet. “I actually don’t know what I will be doing post retirement. Recently, I asked a teammate the same question and got the same reply. Yeah, but maybe a lot of travelling.”
Kohli announced his T20I retirement post winning the T20 World Cup 2024. However, he has now revealed that he might come back to play one game if India reaches 2028 Olympics final in Los Angeles.
“If India reaches the Olympics final in 2028, might just think of coming out of retirement for that one match. Winning an Olympic medal would be magnificent,” he said.
