Sara Ali Khan has addressed the shocking attack on her father, Saif Ali Khan, at his residence, expressing gratitude that the situation did not take a more tragic turn. Speaking to NDTV Yuva, the actress reflected on how the terrifying experience served as a stark reminder of life’s unpredictability.

In her conversation, Sara Ali Khan shared how the attack deeply impacted her and the family, making them appreciate the fragility of life. “It makes you realise what truly matters. The entire family only felt gratitude because it could have gone so wrong. I am so grateful that everything is fine. It was a reminder almost of the life we have. We all talk about practicing mental health. Being grateful for your life is so important. And moments like that make you realise it,” she said,
She further emphasized that while the incident did not change the bond she shares with her father, it reinforced the importance of mindfully celebrating every day. She added, “It is not about being closer. He is my father, we are as close as we can be. It did not make me realise that he is my father, it made me realise that life can change overnight. So every day deserves mindful celebration. It made me realise just being grateful.”
Details of the Attack
The horrifying incident took place on January 16, when an intruder managed to break into Saif Ali Khan’s residence late at night. The situation escalated when one of the house staff rushed to inform the actor and his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan that the suspect was inside their younger son Jeh’s room. Reacting immediately, Saif entered the room and found himself face-to-face with the armed intruder, who was holding two knives. In a struggle to subdue the attacker, the actor sustained multiple stab wounds, including injuries to his thoracic spine. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Investigation and Arrest
Authorities acted swiftly in investigating the case, with facial recognition technology playing a key role in tracking down the suspect. The accused, identified as a 30-year-old Bangladeshi national, was captured on CCTV footage from the crime scene, leading to his arrest.
As for the actor’s health, Saif Ali Khan has recovered well and also made his first public appearance at a Netflix event in February.
