Recently, military consultant Varlin Panwar, a retired Indian Air Force officer, shared behind-the-scenes glimpses from the film’s sets. The pictures feature Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya in full military gear, engaged in discussions with Panwar. Sharing the images on social media, she wrote, “World of SKYFORCE… Watch it on @amazonprime Amazing work by the team,” encouraging viewers to watch the film.
Sky Force is based on real events and depicts India’s airstrike on Pakistan’s Sargodha airbase during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965. The film explores the challenges and bravery of the Indian Air Force, bringing to light an important chapter of India’s military history.Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya both played air force officers with fictional names inspired by the story of Wing Commander Om Prakash Taneja and Squadron Leader Ajjamada Boppayya Devayya, where the former headed a nationwide search of the latter after he disappeared during the 1965 war.
Also starring Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur, the film did find its own audience upon its release and its transition to the OTT platform has further expanded its audience, with viewers continuing to engage with the story and performances.
