Sikandar, directed by A.R. Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, has officially hit the big screen on Sunday. The film, featuring Salman Khan in the lead role, is a high-octane action drama with elements of romance and emotion. Apart from Khan, the film boasts an ensemble cast, marking his first onscreen collab with Rashmika Mandanna and also with filmmaker Murugadoss.
Salman Khan opens up about performing action despite injuries; says, “Every bone of my body has been broken twice or thrice”
Ahead of the film’s release, Salman Khan addressed the media and spoke about his experience performing action sequences despite sustaining multiple injuries throughout his career. When asked whether action films have become more challenging with age, he responded, “Every bone of my body has been broken twice or thrice. Every ligament has been torn 2-3 times. We didn’t even get to rest then. There were no body shots in this film. If there were, I’d have gotten lean in a couple of weeks. That’s not a big deal. I have a six-pack even when I’m not lean. My muscle is so huge that even if I get some fat, it starts protruding. People make an issue out of this, but it’s not an issue for me. If you get a six-pack but weigh only 55 kg, then what’s the point?”
With its theatrical release, Sikandar marks another collaboration between Salman Khan and producer Sajid Nadiadwala, who have previously joined hands for films like Kick and Judwaa. Released on March 30 on the occasion of Gudi Padwa, ahead of Eid, Sikandar has garnered attention for its engaging storyline and action-packed sequences.
As Sikandar continues its theatrical run, its reception among audiences and critics will determine its success at the box office. Also starring Sathyaraj, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, and Prateik Smita Patil, the film is expected to perform well during the Eid festive period, drawing in Salman Khan’s loyal fan base with its blend of intense action, drama, and emotions.
