Salman Khan starrer Sikandar, which is directed by AR Murugadoss, released on Sunday March 30. The film is, obviously, about the actor’s heroics as he beats up various baddies in his unique way for a noble cause. The noble cause over here is organ transplant. This issue brings a unique feat for the actor as far as the topic of organ transplant is concerned.
Sikandar completes Salman Khan’s TRILOGY of heart transplant movies
Way back in 1999, Salman came up with the ghost comedy Hello Brother, which also starred Arbaaz Khan and Rani Mukerji. Directed by Sohail Khan, the film saw Salman’s character called Hero dying an untimely death. His heart then gets transplanted to Arbaaz’s character, who played a cop Vishal and was his opponent. The result? As Hero loved Rani, Vishal too starts loving her since he has Hero’s heart now.
Five years later, Salman was seen in Atul Agnihotri’s Dil Ne Jise Apna Kaha (2004), which also starred Preity Zinta and Bhumika Chawla. Salman and Preity, played a couple Rishabh and Dr Pari, who get married and the latter gets pregnant. However, she meets with an accident and dies. It was her last wish that her heart gets transplanted to her patient Dhani (Bhumika). The transplant takes place and Dhani gets a new lease of life. But as she now has Pari’s heart, she starts loving Rishabh.
And now, Salman’s latest film Sikandar is also about organ transplant. The film sees the lives of a few people being saved through organ transplantation. Out of the three, one girl goes through a heart transplant. This act turns out to be like a reincarnation for her.
Hence, it won’t be wrong to say that with Sikandar, Salman has completed a trilogy of movies featuring heart transplant. It is a unique feat because the actor’s main competitors would not have done even one or two films on heart transplant. But he has as many as three. And Salman isn’t done yet as far as his career is concerned.
