Director S Shashikanth’s Test recently released on Netflix. The film is a drama starring R Madhavan, Nayanthara and Siddharth. The film sees Madhavan play a character who struggles to earn big. The actor is getting praised for his act as the antagonist in the film. But this isn’t the first occasion in recent years where Madhavan has been praised for playing a role with such a shade. Not-so-long-ago, he received all the accolades for his demonic character in the supernatural thriller Shaitaan, which also starred Ajay Devgn and Jyotika.

Continuing his streak with negative roles, Madhavan is now all set to play the antagonist lawyer in Karan Singh Tyagi’s historical drama Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story Of Jallianwala Bagh. His character in the movie will be pitted against the real character of C Sankaran Nair, which is essayed by Akshay Kumar.
Although Kesari Chapter 2 is some distance away from its release, Madhavan has been receiving praise for his character from the trailer itself, which has grabbed a lot of eyeballs. During the trailer launch of Kesari Chapter 2, Madhavan had said, “I felt that this was a story that needed to be told. I don’t think about whether it’s positive or negative. I want to play a role so well that people hate me.”
Produced by Dharma Productions, Cape Of Good Films and Leo Media Collective, Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story Of Jallianwala Bagh is all set to release in theatres on April 18.
