Palak Tiwari is gearing up for the release of her upcoming horror-comedy The Bhootnii, and while audiences might be in for some good scares and solid laughs, the actor revealed that shooting the film was no walk in the park, especially when it came to keeping a straight face on set.

Going by the trailer, it was evident that The Bhootnii will bring together an interesting mix of horror and situational comedy. Palak, who plays the role of Ananya, opened up about the experience of shooting such a genre. She shared that while the process was immensely enjoyable, it also came with its own set of challenges. “Oh, it’s definitely not easy,” Palak said and continued, “We have some phenomenal actors on board, like Asif Khan, who is just brilliant. He’s so good at being scared in a way that’s hilarious but also so convincing. Acting with him was tough because his comic timing is impeccable. There were so many moments when I had to remind myself to stay in character as Ananya, but the audience member in me—the Palak in me—just wanted to laugh!”
The actor further elaborated on how the natural humour of her co-stars made it hard to hold back laughter during takes. “It’s a circumstantial comedy at times, and my co-actors were just so gifted. So yeah, it was very fun, but so difficult at the same time,” she added.
Directed by Sidhaant Sachdev and backed by producers Deepak Mukut and Sanjay Dutt, The Bhootnii features supernatural elements with a funny twist, making it a challenging genre to execute. With a cast that includes seasoned performers like Sanjay Dutt and Mouni Roy who play Baba and Mohabbat respectively along with Sunny Singh as Shantanu, Nick as Sahil, and Aasif Khan as Nasir, the film aims to strike the right balance between spooky and funny.
Palak’s behind-the-scenes insight hints at the kind of energy and camaraderie that went into making the film, and if the shoot was this entertaining, the final product promises to be an engaging ride for the audience.
