Amit Golani, the director of the Babil Khan-starrer Logout, is riding high on the film’s international recognition. The thriller has been making waves at prestigious film festivals, and Golani couldn’t be more thrilled about the global response. In an exclusive quote given to Bollywood Hungama, he opened up about witnessing the film’s first audience reactions and what sets Logout apart from other thrillers.

Golani recalled the film’s screening at Stuttgart as a defining moment. He said, “I think Stuttgart was the first time we saw our film with an audience, and that’s the kind of first approval any filmmaker looks for—the first screening with a small audience. I was slightly nervous since it was an international audience—would they get the references? But that’s the beauty of this topic. It’s so universal that even if the language changes, issues like social media and phone addiction are relatable across the world. The reactions truly surprised us—how much they understood and how they picked up on the nuances, not just the thriller aspect. We were confident the thriller part would work with any audience, but when they came up to us and spoke about the smaller details, that was very gratifying and reassuring.”
Streaming on ZEE5, Logout adds to the platform’s growing lineup of thrillers. Golani believes his film brings something fresh to the table. “It’s a tightly knit thriller, and I think that’s something audiences will feel and enjoy—especially if executed well,” he explained. “There’s definitely a takeaway, and I truly believe this is one of Babil’s best performances.”
With Babil Khan on screen for nearly 90% of the film, Golani praised the young actor’s dedication and intensity. “He’s really excelled. I’m sure his fans will love what he’s done,” he said.
As Logout continues to gather momentum globally, Golani is hopeful the film’s universal themes and gripping storytelling will continue to resonate across borders.
