Karn Sharma made a memorable impact for Mumbai Indians in its 12-run win over Delhi Capitals on Sunday, and after the game, the leg-spinner expressed his happiness at returning to the franchise after nearly seven years.
“I feel happy on coming back to Mumbai Indians after 6-to-7 years,” said Karn at the post-match press conference.
“I just wanted to continue from where I left off in 2017 for Mumbai Indians whenever I get the chance.” His comeback was perfectly timed as Delhi looked well on course at one stage, scoring freely and appearing in control of the chase.
Karn acknowledged the match situation and said his primary role was to break partnerships. “When the situation was like that — they were going 10-15 runs per over — then my role was just to take wickets in between,” he added.
The leggie finished with 3 for 36, including the key wicket of KL Rahul, and played a key part in snapping DC’s unbeaten run in IPL 2025.
