Chennai Super Kings’ bowling consultant Eric Simmons lauded the influential role of legendary skipper MS Dhoni in the team’s setup, beyond his captaincy responsibilities.
After CSK’s thrilling five-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants, Simmons highlighted Dhoni’s impact on the team, saying, “I’ve been privileged to work with him for many years. His influence has been there all the time, even when he wasn’t captain.”
“His relationship with Ruttu (Ruturaj Gaikwad) is very important, and his relationship with all the players is very important,” he added underscoring Dhoni’s leadership qualities that extend beyond his on-field role.
Dhoni’s calm and composed demeanor was on full display during the match, as he played a match-winning cameo alongside Shivam Dube to guide CSK to a thrilling victory.
