Rajasthan Royals’ captain Sanju Samson retired hurt during the Indian Premier League 2025 match against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday.
Samson was batting on 31 off 19 deliveries when he walked off to the dug out. The opening wicket partnership between Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal stood at 61 when the former went off. Rajasthan Royals was chasing 189 runs against Delhi Capitals.
The Kerala batter had played as an Impact Player during the first three matches this season as he was recovering from a finger injury, which kept him from taking on the wicketkeeping duty.
Riyan Parag led the Royals during these three games, winning one and losing two.
