In the widely shared clip, a group of Indian fans is seen packing a carton filled with water bottles, labelled “To Hania Aamir. Rawal Pind. Punjab, Pakistan. From India.” The gesture, reported by Free Press Journal, was a playful response to India’s decision to suspend the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty after the April 22, 2025, terror attack in Pahalgam, which killed 26 people. While some netizens found the video amusing, others criticised it for trivialising Pakistan’s reliance on the Indus River for 80% of its agricultural irrigation. One X user commented, “Good job,” while another wrote, “Not the correct time to do this.”

Earlier, Hania condemned the attack on Instagram, stating, “Tragedy anywhere is a tragedy for all of us. My heart is with the innocent lives affected by the recent events. In pain, in grief, and in hope—we are one,” later deleted the post.

She was reportedly dropped from Diljit Dosanjh’s Sardaarji 3 after the incident, with producers considering reshooting her scenes due to rising anti-Pakistan sentiment. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees reiterated its ban on Pakistani artists, complicating her potential debut in Indian film industry.
