South Africa announced its squad for the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 final against Australia on Tuesday.

Temba Bavuma will lead the 15-member squad which also sees the return of fast bowler Lungi Ngidi, who missed out on home summer due to an injury.

Ngidi joins the fast bowling lineup consisting of Kagiso Rabada, Marco Jansen, Dane Paterson and Corbin Bosch. Keshav Maharaj will handle the spin department alongside Senuran Muthusamy.

“Over the past 18 months, we’ve worked hard to build a competitive red-ball unit, and this achievement reflects that progress,” head coach Shukri Conrad said.

“A key part of our success has been consistency in selection, and we’ve stuck with the core group of players who have been part of this WTC cycle. We’ve selected a balanced squad for the conditions we expect at Lord’s,” he added.

The WTC Final will take place at the Lord’s starting June 11.
