James Anderson returned to play a T20 match after 11 years in the T20 Blast tournament in England on Sunday. Anderson was named in Lancashire’s playing XI against Durham.
The now 42-year-old last played a T20 game 3935 days ago, his first appearance since August 2014 where he featured for Lancashire against Warwickshire in a T20 Blast match.
Coming into the XI in place of Mitch Stanley, Anderson opened the bowling after Lancashire opted to field.
The fast bowler gave away just three runs in his first over and picked opener G Clarke’s wicket in his second. In his third over in the same spell, Anderson removed AZ Lees as well.
Returning to bowl after a six-over gap, Anderson got one more wicket, CN Ackermann, and finished his game with three for 17 runs in four overs.
