JioHotstar has unveiled the official trailer for Special Ops Season 2, with Kay Kay Menon reprising his role as R&AW officer Himmat Singh. Created by Neeraj Pandey and produced by Friday Storytellers, the series returns with a new storyline rooted in digital warfare and national security threats that feel increasingly real.

In this chapter, Himmat and his elite team face an invisible enemy operating through cyberattacks and data breaches. With wars now waged through screens rather than battlefields, Special Ops 2 reflects a world where modern threats are silent but devastating.
Kay Kay Menon spoke about the evolving nature of the threat and his character’s response to it, “Himmat Singh has always fought with grit, intellect, and instinct. But this time, the war isn’t visible. The stakes are bigger, the threats more unpredictable… This chapter allowed me to explore not just the strategist, but the man behind the mission.”
Director Shivam Nair emphasized the shift in storytelling, “With Special Ops 2.0, we’ve truly raised the bar—in scale, storytelling, and intensity… It’s not just thrilling—it’s timely.”
The show also brings back key characters, including Vinay Pathak as Abbas Sheikh, Karan Tacker as Farooq Ali, and introduces Tahir Raj Bhasin as a new antagonist. Tahir said, “Joining the world of Special Ops has been an electrifying adrenalin rush… What makes this antagonist exciting is how rooted in the real world he is. He uses code, data, and people’s blind trust. That’s what makes him truly dangerous.”
Karan Tacker added, “Farooq has evolved and so has the mission… The tension lies in not knowing where the next hit will come from because the enemy is invisible.”
Alok Jain of JioStar said the new season aims to reflect “the complex digital battleground” of today’s world and deliver stories that resonate with current realities. Special Ops 2 begins streaming July 11 exclusively on JioHotstar.
