Karan Tacker is back in action with Special Ops 2, reprising his role as Farooq Ali, a RAW agent navigating high-risk missions. The trailer for the new season was released recently, and fans welcomed his return to the gritty espionage thriller created by Neeraj Pandey.

Farooq Ali, a character introduced in the first season of Special Ops, marked a shift in Karan’s career, offering him a layered role outside of conventional television. In Special Ops 2, Tacker continues to portray Farooq with a grounded intensity, balancing action with emotional depth.
Karan’s collaboration with filmmaker Neeraj Pandey has been a consistent part of his recent work. Speaking about their creative partnership, Karan shared, “Getting a script from Neeraj Sir is one of the biggest things. Outside of television, this was exactly the kind of opportunity I had been looking for as an actor — and I couldn’t have asked for a more fitting collaboration than with Neeraj Sir.”
He also reflected on a moment after the success of Special Ops 1 that left a lasting impression. “He asked me how I felt about the response. I told him it was amazing. Then he said what if people didn’t respond like this? Would it still feel amazing? I said yes, because I had a great time shooting it. And that’s when he told me the only real takeaway from any project should be the experience you had while making it. That one lesson has stayed with me ever since,” he added.
This perspective has shaped how Karan approaches his work, especially in high-pressure roles like that of a covert operative in Special Ops. The actor’s ability to internalize such lessons is evident in the restraint and focus he brings to his performance.
In addition to Special Ops 2, Karan Tacker is gearing up for multiple releases. He will be seen next in Tanvi The Great, a drama featuring Anupam Kher, and Bhay, directed by Gaurav Tiwari.
