Sony Bravia 5 Series 4K Mini LED TVs With Up to 85-Inch Screen Launched: Price in India, Features

Sony has launched the Bravia 5 smart TV series in India, available in multiple screen sizes of up to 85 inches. The TV is powered by the XR processor with AI and cognitive intelligence, and features XR Backlight Master Drive, XR Contrast Booster 10, and XR Triluminos Pro for lifelike visuals. It supports Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and Studio Calibrated Modes, including Prime Video. The Bravia 5 also offers Acoustic Multi-Audio, Voice Zoom 3 for clearer audio, and gaming features like support for HDMI 2.1, variable refresh rate (VRR), and auto low latency mode (ALLM). 

Sony Bravia 5 Series Price in India

The Sony Bravia 5 series price in India starts at Rs. 1,37,740 for the 55-inch option, the company reveals in a press release. Meanwhile, the 65-inch and 75-inch variants are priced at Rs. 1,73,840 and Rs. 2,84,990, respectively. The largest 85-inch model costs Rs. 4,17,990. The availability of the 65-inch variant has not been confirmed yet. All other sizes are currently available for purchase in the country via Sony Centres and other e-commerce sites, as well as select offline electronic stores. 

Sony Bravia 5 Series Features

The Sony Bravia 5 series is available in four screen sizes — 55-inch, 65-inch, 75-inch and 85-inch. The series features 4K (3,840 x 2,160 pixels) LCD panels with Mini LED backlighting, local dimming technology, and a 120Hz refresh rate. The TVs support HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision.

Sony Bravia 5 TVs are powered by Sony’s AI-backed XR processor. They also include XR Contrast Booster 10, which adjusts brightness and black levels, and XR Triluminos Pro, which is said to reproduce over a billion colours for accurate colour rendering. Features like XR Clear Image and XR Motion Clarity are claimed to enhance image clarity.

The Sony Bravia 5 series runs on Android TV with the Google TV interface and includes voice control, a voice remote, and access to the Google Play Store. It features Studio Calibrated Mode, including Prime Video Calibrated Mode, for accurate visuals across films, series, and live sports. The lineup supports PS5 enhancements, such as Auto HDR Tone Mapping. 

Sony’s Bravia 5 series offers a 40W total audio output through a four-speaker Acoustic Multi-Audio system with support for Dolby Audio, Dolby Atmos, DTS: X and DTS Digital Surround. It comes with Room and User Position Acoustic Calibration, 3D Surround Upscaling, and Voice Zoom 3, which is claimed to use AI to analyse audio, detect, isolate, and adjust the volume of human voices for improved clarity. 

Connectivity options for the Sony Bravia 5 series include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, eARC, VRR, ALLM, and SBTM, two USB ports, built-in Chromecast, Apple AirPlay, and HomeKit support. They also have support for four HDMI 2.1 ports, which are said to support 4K video output at a 120Hz refresh rate.
