Australian women’s cricketer Kim Garth was reprimanded for breaching Level 1 of ICC code of conduct during the third W-ODI against India at the W.A.C.A ground in Perth, the world cricket body announced on Monday.

“Garth was found to have breached Article 2.3 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to ‘use of an audible obscenity during an International Match’,” ICC stated in a release.

The incident happened during the fourth over in India’s innings when Garth was heard using inappropriate language. She has been given one demerit point after she admitted to the offence and accepted the sanction.

Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand, a maximum penalty of 50 per cent of a player’s match fee, and one or two demerit points.

Australia defeated India in that match to clean sweep the ODI series 3-0. Garth bowled four overs in the match and finished with none for 22.
