India batter K.L. Rahul will miss Karnataka’s upcoming Ranji Trophy match against Punjab starting this Thursday at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium here.
It is understood that Rahul is nursing an elbow injury, and has communicated to the team management that he would not be available for the must-win game that is set to feature Punjab’s Shubman Gill. Rahul is however expected to play the last match against Haryana, also at home, from January 30.

Karnataka, which is placed a precarious fourth in the Elite Group-C table (five matches, 12 points), will look to carry forward the confidence from its recent Vijay Hazare Trophy triumph,
Karnataka though will have to do without pacers Vidwath Kaverappa and V. Vyshak owing to injuries. Kaverappa, who hasn’t played since September 2024, is pencilled in to take the field against Haryana.
