India all-rounder Shardul Thakur is set to replace injured Mohsin Khan in the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) roster for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, reports said on Friday.

The Mumbai pacer had gone unsold during the mega auction held in Saudi Arabia late last year but is set to join the LSG squad led by Rishabh Pant as an injury replacement.

Thakur had already joined the team’s camp ahead of the upcoming season as a net bowler and was pictured with the squad during a visit to the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s office.

The 33-year-old has made 95 appearances in the IPL since his debut in 2015, picking up 94 wickets at an economy rate of 9.23. The Mumbai bowler was part of the Chennai Super Kings’ squad during its victorious campaigns in 2018 and 2021.

Left-arm pacer Mohsin has been out of action for several months after an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury and suffered a fresh jolt after suffering a calf strain during training, reports suggested.

The Lucknow-based franchise has had a tough time with injuries ahead of the 2025 season with Akash Deep, Avesh Khan, and Mayank Yadav yet to join the squad.
