Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson retired hurt on 31 during his innings againt Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Wednesday.
Samson suffered from a side strain and walked off the field during the sixth over of the innings. Rajasthan Royals had added 61 runs for the first wicket and needed 189 runs to win.
According to the Indian Premier League Playing Conditions, the RR skipper can resume his innings upon the fall of a wicket.
The rule 25.4.2 says, “If a batter retires because of illness, injury or any other unavoidable cause, that batter is entitled to resume his innings.”
