Royal Challengers Bengaluru opener Phil Salt believes that the loss against Sunrisers Hyderabad is disappointing, but while the team is gutted, they would rather take the loss now than suffer a similar result in the playoffs.

The explosive English batter also refuses to see the defeat by 42 runs as a setback going into the final four of the tournament.

The RCB lost to SRH by 42 runs while chasing a mammoth 232-run target. As a result of this heavy defeat, RCB (17 points) has slid down to third on the table behind Gujarat Titans (18) and Punjab Kings (17). The Net Run Rate also took a significant beating.

Once RCB was asked to chase an imposing 232, which the SRH set after Ishan Kishan made a stunning unbeaten 94 off 48 balls, RCB required some calculated assault on the target.

They mounted it through Phil Salt (62), Virat Kohli (43) and Jitesh Sharma (24), but could only amass 189 before getting bundled out.
