India T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav on Wednesday struck a half century for his side Triumph Knights Mumbai North East in its T20 Mumbai League match against Eagle Thane Strikers.
Suryakumar, who won the Most Valuable Player award in the Indian Premier League 2025 season less than 24 hours ago, brought star power to Mumbai’s new T20 league with a 25-ball 50.
Suryakumar’s efforts led the side to 179 for seven in 20 overs. However, the Triumph Knights could not defend the total.
Varun Lavande powered the Strikers’ chase with a fiery 57 off 38 balls. Sairaj Patil scored a quickfire 47 off 22 balls to complete the win for Strikers.
Suryakumar will next be in action for India during the three-match T20 series against Bangladesh in August.
